How do I care for my Le Creuset cookware?

You should take care and never drop your pot or drag it across a cooktop. Such actions may permanently damage the enamel, and are not covered by guarantee.

Although much of our cookware is dishwasher-safe, in most cases we recommend washing by hand.

Remember to always use low or medium settings on direct heat sources; high heat may cause a pan to scorch.

To learn the proper way to care for your Le Creuset cookware, please refer to the Care and Use brochure included in your item’s box, or view our website’s Care and Use page.

What is the ideal temperature for cooking with Le Creuset cast iron products?

It is best to use low or medium heat settings with Le Creuset cast iron products. This material retains heat so well that a higher setting will cause burning, sticking and discoloration.

There are brown marks on the inside of my pot. How do I remove them?

For normal wear-and-tear, Le Creuset offers cast iron cookware cleaners. To prevent staining, use only medium or low heat settings. However, stains will occur with use, and we recommend filling a pot water, boil for ten minutes, then let cool and discard solution. Wash the pot with regular dish detergent, rinse and dry.

Alternatively, Le Creuset pots and pans cleaner will be able to help remove stains in the pot.

A small piece of enamel on the inside of my pot chipped away. Is it safe to use, and how do I fix it?

If the chip is on the outside of the pot, it is still safe to use. Coat the chipped spot with oil to keep moisture out. However, if the chip is on the inside, firstly, we would recommend you to send us an email at enquiries.hk@lecreuset.com with images of the defected item so we can evaluate it.
